Ecco cosa ho trovato :
Hello John, I've not guided with the LPI, but the rule of thumb is
you want about half the Arc sec/pixel as your imageing camera. or
about twice the focal lenght. YOur SN-8 (if meades) is about 800mm
and a 4" f5 is about 500mm. A 2x barlow would make it 1000mm. it
should work, but you might be better off guiding with the sn-8 with
a barlow and imaging with the refractor. Assuming that you have a EQ
mount, get the polar alignment as good as posible. spend the 30min
to do a drift alignment, LPI works great for this. I would also
guess you could guide on 6th or 7th Mag stars, maybe higher with the
exposure longer. you'll have to see how well your mount tracks. Hope
this was a help.
Clear Skies, Kurt
Ciao,
Andrea
